Still a cool day for tomorrow, however, with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 50s. Unfortunately, rain chances look to increase later in the day, which could hamper some Mardi Gras events. Most of the rain looks to start after 6pm and continue through the overnight. Rain could get heavier on Sunday as a weak low pressure spawns across the northern Gulf. This event looks very similar to the one we just saw a few days ago, minus the extreme Arctic air behind it. Rainfall totals through this evening could be in the 1-2 inch range.
Weather will improve and be quite nice through much of next week. High pressure is going to build across the south-central U.S. which will lead to warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 60s on Monday, but will be comfortably in the 70s by both Tuesday and Wednesday.
A weak front moves through on Thursday, but this front shouldn’t do much to change our temperature profile. We’ll see a continuation of nice weather through the end of next week.
