NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man has been indicted for second-degree murder in the case of a 2022 Xavier University shooting.
According to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, Brandon Rock was initially charged with manslaughter in the death of 80-year-old Augustine Greenwood back in 2022, but received the murder indictment after new evidence was reportedly received on Friday, Feb. 14.
Rock now faces charges of second-degree murder, possession of a firearm in a school zone or at a school-sponsored event and participating in a riot causing death.
This new information was received not long after a former suspect, Laverne Duplessis, had all charges against her dropped.
