Holy Cross takes down Teurlings for second straight Division II state soccer title

HAMMOND, La. — No. 2 Holy Cross defeated No 1. Teurlings Catholic, 3-2 in the Division II soccer state championship game Thursday night at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Strawberry Stadium.

Erik Santamaria scored two goals in the first half to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead at the break. Teurlings would attempt to rally in the second half but Cooper Wolterman would deliver the final blow to help Holy Cross secure the win.

The 2025 state championship victory marked the program’s sixth state title in the last eight years (2018-2021 & 2024) and the first under coach Harry Mason.

More prep soccer championship coverage will be featured this week on WGNO’s Friday Night Sports. The show airs Fridays at 11 p.m. on Nola 38 the CW.

It replays at midnight on WGNO.
