Be crowned ‘Fresno’s Weirdest Al’: Yankovic lookalike contest coming to Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Next Friday might be Fresno’s weirdest yet – a Weird Al lookalike contest and free cult classic film screening starring the king of quirk is coming to Downtown.

Cen Cal Cinema says the event is centered around UHF – a quirky comedy written and starring Weird Al Yankovic, who plays George, an unemployed daydreamer who finds himself with the deed to a local television station.

Attendees are encouraged to come to the screening dressed as their favorite Weird Al character; organizers say the winner will go home with the coveted title of Fresno’s Weirdest Al.

The event kicks off Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. at CMAC on 1555 Van Ness Ave. Suite 201. Cen Cal Cinema says the screening is their first.
