
Stepping in as Interim Chief of Police for the Slidell Police Department is Chief Administrative Officer Daniel Seuzeneau. In his current role, Seuzeneau manages SPD’s nearly $18 million budget and oversees Public and Media Relations and the Information and Technology operations.
Additionally, he served as official liaison between the City of Slidell administration, city council and police department.
He is described by the department as a “highly decorated veteran officer,” who began his law enforcement career 20 years ago as a patrolman.
He then went on to serves as a detective with the Criminal Investigations Division, once with the FBI, and from there, promoted to the rank of sergeant.
During Sheriff Randy Smith’s transition from Slidell Police Chief to Sheriff of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Seuzeneau assisted by serving as Captain in the Public Affairs Division. He then returned to Slidell as CAO and hostage and crisis negotiator for the SWAT team.
Over the years, he’s earned a Lifesaving Award, an award for Exceptional Service and several additional accolades.
In 2010, Seuzeneau gained the title of Slidell Police Department’s Public Information Officer and launched the first law enforcement Facebook page in the state that now has over 180k followers.
He has also represented the department on several national television crime shows as well as local and national news outlets.
Seuzeneau is a husband and father of two and a Louisiana Tech University graduate holding a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

He is expected to lead the department until Spring 2026 when an election will be held to select a permanent police chief.
