The only Pride Parade celebration in the nation to cross state lines is at home in the twin river towns of New Hope, Pennsylvania and Lambertville, New Jersey.
“Pride in Full Color” is this year’s theme for the advance Pride Celebration, which runs Saturday through May 17.
New Hope Celebrates unveiled the event schedule, lineup, theme and headliners for PrideFest 2026.
“I am grateful for the history, the people and their stories that make New Hope and Lambertville a community where queer people are not just accepted, but celebrated,” said Melissa Patterson, president of New Hope Celebrates.
Pride Month is celebrated in June in honor and support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer + groups along with LGBTQ+ individuals who have made strides in support of and changes to civil rights and equal justice for the community.
New Hope Celebrates expects over 15,000 attendees for their “unfiltered celebration of identity, community and visibility.”
“I am proud of the strength of our community, rich with so many LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors – and thrilled that we live and work in one of the great LGBTQ+ travel destinations in America. ‘Pride in Full Color’ honors that legacy and shines a light on every shade of who we were, who we are and who we will continue to be,” Patterson said.
A 100-foot rainbow Pride parade flag will be unfurled along the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge.
Musical events, a drag queen story time, the Progress Pride flag unveiling, Pride bingo, Love is Love Gala event, Pride with Purpose, Pride Parade, Pride Fair, Closing Tea Dance & Pool Party are planned along with a month-long pride-themed Cocktail Contest as event highlights.
June marks Pride month annually to commemorate the Stonewall riots in Greenwich Village, New York City, in 1969.
Organized pursuit of LGBTQ+ rights is traced back to Chicano in 1924 and the founding of the Society of Human Rights by early gay rights activist Henry Gerber.
The Chicago Society of Human Rights is the oldest, documented organization in the nation to support and advocate for homosexuals, asserting that as Americans they are protected under the Declaration of Independence, which guarantees citizens the legal right to pursue life, liberty and happiness, according to The Legacy Project.
