Online survey can help shape area’s health resources

Can people in the Concord region get rides to public services? Do they respect different views? Is this a good place to be a young adult? To grow old? To get long-term care?

Those are some of the questions asked in an online survey from a coalition of health service providers around Concord and the Lakes Region to guide future programs and investments.

“Community input is essential to understanding the needs of the people we serve,” said Gwen Whitney-Gill, community health coordinator for Concord Hospital, one of the participating agencies. “This survey gives residents an opportunity to directly influence how health care and community resources are developed and delivered in the years ahead.”

The survey is part of a broader Community Health Needs Assessment process, which helps organizations identify key health issues, address any disparities and strengthen access to care. Topics include access to healthcare services, mental and behavioral health, chronic disease, substance use, housing and transportation.

All responses are confidential and anybody in the region can participate.

“The more people who participate, the more accurately we can understand our community’s needs and work together to build healthier communities,” said Whitney-Gill.
