FOR-A said IMPULSE will add AI-assisted features to its Graph Editor that automatically generate node graphs and system diagrams, allowing operators to focus on creative mix/effects while AI manages the back-end production pipeline. IMPULSE consolidates signal processing, multiview, switching, graphics, audio mixing and media playback as software functions powered by high-speed GPU processing. The platform can be deployed on-prem, with cloud and hybrid workflows planned.
MixBoard, powered by ClassX and available now, is a software-based switcher supporting complex compositions with unlimited layers and switching among cameras, presentations and multimedia sources with professional 2D/3D transitions. Notable features include new video input types such as a Media Engine for seamless clip, still and playlist playout; a Compositor for advanced layouts and transitions; PTZ camera control via GUI; and GPU-accelerated multiview. FOR-A positions MixBoard for corporate events, live presentations and hybrid production environments.
Also shipping, the HVS-Q12 is a 2 M/E 3G switcher that is software-upgradable to 12G and offers 3 M/E equivalent operation with MELite technology. The 4RU unit provides up to 60 inputs and 30 outputs in 3G mode and up to 42 inputs and 21 outputs in 12G. It supports up to eight keyers per M/E at HD/3G and four keyers for 12G, and includes an IP interface for Dante and NDI.
NAB 2026 events include a “FOR-A Connect” gathering on Saturday, April 18, from 4-5 p.m. in the LVCC West Hall, Level 2, Rooms W220-221, where the company will unveil additional solutions and feature industry leaders discussing real-world use cases.
Satoshi Kanemura, FOR-A America president and COO, will moderate a panel, “Software-Defined Powered by AI Equals Fluidity for Broadcast Operations,” with former CBS VP of engineering Robert Seidel and Advanced Systems Group chief innovation officer Claudia Souza on Tuesday, April 21, at 11:30 a.m.
