A representative for pop star Katy Perry has issued a strongly worded response to sexual assault allegations from Ruby Rose.
In a series of social media posts, Rose accused Perry of sexually assaulting her at a spice market nightclub in Melbourne when she was in her twenties.
The 40-year-old Australian actor, who starred in Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, XXX: Return of Xander Cage, John Wick: Chapter 2, and played Batwoman in the Arrowverse television franchise, took to Threads to hit out at a post from Complex Music about Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s recent Coachella set. In doing so, she claimed that she kept the alleged sexual assault a secret all these years because Perry helped to secure her U.S. visa.
In a statement issued to Variety, a representative for Perry said: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
