West Hazleton man faces drug charges after raid
HAZLETON – A West Hazleton man is facing felony drug charges after a police tactical team raided his home Thursday morning.
Sammy Sanchez-Polanco, 27, of West Hazleton, was arrested Thursday morning by the Hazleton Police Special Response Team on felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
The tactical team raided Sanchez-Polanco’s South Broad Street home in West Hazleton after a two-month-long investigation.
According to Hazleton Police, narcotics detectives conducted surveillance details and controlled purchases of cocaine from Sanchez-Polanco.
Along with Thursday’s arrest, police executed a search warrant, finding 500 grams of cocaine, a cutting agent, processing and packaging materials, a handgun, and 25 grams of marijuana.
Sanchez-Polanco was arraigned and committed to Luzerne County Prison, denied bail as a flight risk.
