Louisiana Department of Health starts distributing federal SNAP benefits

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) announced that it has started distributing federal SNAP funds to recipients.

According to LDH, the subsequent distribution of federally funded SNAP benefits is scheduled for November 9. Officials stated that recipients will receive 65% of their usual SNAP benefits, depending on their household size.

The department anticipates receiving guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regarding the issuance of 100% of federal SNAP benefits.
