Veterans Day 2025: Celebrations and events in, near Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Veterans Day falls on Tuesday, Nov. 11. There are multiple events in the Baton Rouge area that people can attend this year to honor veterans.

Here’s what to know about Veterans Day events scheduled in the area.

Veterans Day Celebration in East Baton Rouge

The mayor-president’s office announced plans for a special ceremony Wednesday in Baton Rouge behind the city hall building.

  • When: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5.
  • Where: Rhorer Plaza (behind Baton Rouge City Hall).

Breakfast with Veterans

Operation Baton Rouge is hosting a free breakfast and coffee event for veterans.

  • When: 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6.
  • Where: Another Broken Egg (9655 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge).

Veteran’s Day at the Zoo

The Baton Rouge Zoo will offer complimentary admission for active first responders and military personnel and up to five guests for one day in November.

  • When: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.
  • Where: Baton Rouge Zoo (3000 Zoo Circle, Baton Rouge).

Veterans Celebration in West Baton Rouge Parish

A program will be held to honor all veterans for their service. The event will have local food vendors, an antique car show and live entertainment.

  • When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.
  • Where: West Baton Rouge Museum (845 N. Jefferson Ave., Port Allen).

Veterans Day Parade in Ascension Parish

This event celebrates local veterans. The parade route is from Irma Boulevard to Worthy Road to Burnside Avenue to Concerview Road and ends back at Irma Boulevard.

  • When: 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.
  • Where: Irma Boulevard area in Gonzales.

Iberville Salute to Veterans

Iberville Parish Government announced the return of this event for Louisiana veterans. The schedule of events includes pre-ceremony entertainment, an official ceremony, and a Circle of Veterans Presentation.

“Our Veterans Day ceremony continues to be one of the most meaningful and unifying events in Iberville Parish,” said Parish President Chris Daigle. “This year, as we celebrate the 250th anniversaries of the Army, Marine Corps, and Navy, we also take time to remember those who gave everything — including our own Deputy Charles Riley — so that we may continue to live in freedom.”

  • When: 9:30 a.m. pre-ceremony, 10 a.m. to noon ceremony, Tuesday, Nov. 11.
  • Where: Iberville Veterans Memorial (23640 Railroad Ave., Plaquemine).

Veterans Day Car Show & Community Health Fair

This is a family-friendly Veterans Day celebration.

  • When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.
  • Where: 10000 Blackwater Road, Central.
