Compass Group USA and Premier Inc. were first in their respective categories for the Healthiest Employers in North Carolina in 2025. The winners were announced this fall by the Healthiest Employers website, in partnership with Springbuk.
Here are the Charlotte-area employees with top-three honors:
Compass Group, Charlotte
1st Place, 5,000+ employees
The food services company was first in the awards’ largest category. Compass offers holistic resources, including 24/7 counseling and self-paced support that saw a 32% increase in virtual therapy use in 2024. It also provides programs that help associates manage money wisely, including $89 million accessed in early earned wages, and boast 1,000 participants in financial well-being webinars.
Premier Inc., Charlotte
1st Place, 1,500 to 4,999 Employees
Premier, is a technology-driven health care improvement company serving two-thirds of U.S. health care providers. Guided by employee feedback, the company offers innovative benefits including Spring Health for mental health support, WINFertility for family-building, and Health Advocate for healthcare navigation. Policies like flexible work arrangements and enhanced paid time off reinforce the organization’s commitment to employee well-being and performance.
Town of Harrisburg
1st place, 50 to 199 Employees
The Cabarrus County town takes pride in offering a program called the Flexible Employer Contribution. The town provides 6% of each employee’s salary, which can then be applied toward a wide range of benefits tailored to individual needs. This includes financial support, family and lifestyle benefits and pet care.
Kintegra Health, Gastonia
2nd Place, 500 to 1,499 Employees
Kintegra provides community-focused, family-centered health care, education, and preventive services accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay. The company boosts team morale through wellness and DEI initiatives, including cultural potlucks, monthly county hikes for employees and their families, and challenges that earn Wellness Points toward a day off.
Town of Huntersville
2nd Place, 200 to 499 Employees
The fast-growing north Mecklenburg town offers a comprehensive Employee Engagement Program designed to promote well-being and foster community among staff. The program features four major annual appreciation events—including a health fair, BBQ, Chili Cook-Off, and an end-of-year Employee Appreciation Luncheon. This year, the town also introduced a diabetes and weight management program.
Iredell Health System, Statesville
3rd place, 1,500 to 4,999 Employees
Iredell Health is a comprehensive, nonprofit health care organization, with hospitals and clinics throughout the county. Iredell Health promotes wellness beyond physical health through initiatives like cultural storytelling, monthly international recipes, games to expand cultural knowledge, and online training on bias and relationship-building.
FiltersFast.com, Monroe
3rd place, 50 to 199 Employees
Filters Fast has grown into the leading online filtration provider in the United States that has expanded globally. In 2024, the company’s Health and Wellness Events was highlighted by the return of the annual Health and Wellness Challenge. With 48% employee participation, the program led to a notable increase in social media activity, as employees shared step goals, workout clips and other wellness achievements.
Healthiest Employers started as a corporate wellness awards program to highlight innovative companies, and has evolved into a community to connect best-in-class human resource professionals. It utilizes Springbuk, which provides analytics solutions for Healthiest Employers, and brings together clinical expertise, the latest in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
