Bicyclist dead after crash involving car in Northeast Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A bicyclist has died after a crash involving a car in Northeast Portland Tuesday night, authorities said.

The crash was reported near Northeast Glisan Street and Northeast 111th Avenue. KOIN 6 News crews were on the scene just after 7:30 p.m., with multiple Portland police vehicles responding. A portion of the street was taped off at the scene.

Portland Fire and Rescue confirmed to KOIN 6 News that it was a crash involving a car and a bicyclist, and that the bicyclist died at the scene.

“AMR arrived on scene before our fire crew and sadly, the AMR crew pronounced the bicyclist deceased on scene,” said Laurent Picard, a Portland Fire and Rescue spokesperson.

The Portland Police Bureau said PF&R and PPB officers responded to the crash at 6:21 p.m. in the 11200 block of Northeast Glisan Street.

Medical personnel arrived minutes later to provide emergency care, but the bicyclist was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Northeast Glisan Street remains closed in both directions between Northeast 110th Avenue and Northeast 113th Avenue as PPB’s Major Crash Team continues to investigate.
