Tree trimmer severely burned after incident with power lines in Minneapolis
Tree trimmer severely burned while working
A tree trimmer was left with serious burns on Monday afternoon after being electrocuted while working in a bucket truck.
Just before 3 p.m., the trimmer was operating a chainsaw by a power line near Johnson Street Northeast and 27th Street when he came into contact with the line and was electrocuted, Minneapolis Fire Department officials reported.
Fire crews reported the man fell unconscious after he was shocked.
Xcel Energy officials were called to the scene to help, as the bucket truck remained in contact with live electrical wires, leaving it inoperable and making it difficult to rescue the man.
After Xcel officials arrived, the power line was shut down, and the man was brought down via another bucket truck.
The man regained consciousness but was brought to the hospital with severe burns, the fire department said.
