Minecraft World Concept Art Reveals New Theme Park Coming in 2027

Minecraft World, a theme park based on the video game from Mojang Studios, will officially bring Creepers and Crafting Tables to the real world when it opens its doors in 2027.

Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments announced their plans for a $70 million project based on a gaming titan during Minecraft Live March 2026 today. Although plans for its debut at Chessington World of Adventures in Greater London are still coming together, future attendees are told to expect a park inspired by iconic biomes, mobs, items, and more.

You can see concept art for Minecraft World, which features wooden houses, Creepers, TNT blocks, and even a Nether dining area, below.

“Minecraft World represents a meaningful milestone in our ongoing journey to expand the Minecraft universe,” senior creative director of entertainment at Minecraft, Torfi Frans Ólafsson, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have partnered with Merlin Entertainments to realize a place where you can literally be in the Minecraft Overworld and have an adventure of your own with your family and friends. The team at Merlin Entertainments and Mojang have worked hard to craft an experience that feels immersive, authentic and welcoming, and we can’t wait for our community to experience it.”

Mojang and Merlin tell fans to look forward to “a thrilling world first coaster, interactive adventures, epic block built playscapes, and themed retail and dining.” Like other IP-based theme parks before it, Minecraft World will pull from the universe it’s inspired by for the attractions, though additional details remain under wraps.

Minecraft World will be the first major park inspired by Mojang’s video game phenomenon, but theme parks based on video games aren’t exactly new. Nintendo is the obvious example, having already built attractions based on Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong for Super Nintendo World parks across the globe. Universal Studios has also previously launched haunted houses based on the Five Nights at Freddy’s, Fallout, and The Last of Us for Halloween Horror Nights in the past.

Mojang and Merlin are still busy building Minecraft World for its 2027 grand opening. It’s unclear when we’ll get to see the park or learn more about its attractions, for now. In the meantime, you can read up on everything else announced at Minecraft Live 2026.
