Man arrested for alleged shooting, car theft on Hollywood Ave.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Shreveport police arrested a man suspected of a shooting that left a man critically wounded on October 12.

Police say the shooting happened in the 4200 block of Hollywood Avenue, just after 9 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds that were considered life-threatening.

SPD investigators learned that the victim’s vehicle was stolen, and several pieces of evidence were collected at the scene. Detectives in the violent crimes unit identified Pierston Betties as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant on October 23.

Betties was arrested for one count of attempted second-degree homicide and one count of motor vehicle theft.
