Christian D. Efferson, 19, was taken into custody on March 4, after turning himself in to the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office (VPSO). The arrest stems from an investigation that began on Feb. 21, when deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle in Slagle.
According to VPSO, Efferson and another individual traveled to Slagle under the pretense of purchasing a vehicle from a local resident. However, Efferson allegedly stole the vehicle and fled the area.
Through the course of the investigation, deputies identified Efferson as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Efferson has been charged with one count of theft of a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $20,000, and he remains in the VPSO jail.
Authorities confirmed that the stolen vehicle was recovered in Shreveport. The investigation remains ongoing.
