Bossier City preps for winter weather with State officials

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Local and state officials met Thursday at the Bossier Parish Central Library to plan for possible snow, ice, and severe weather this winter.

The Bossier Parish Police Jury, DOTD, and other agencies reviewed updates to the parish’s Winter Weather Operations Plan and confirmed they have enough salt, brine, and equipment ready for use.

Police Jury President Glenn Benton said keeping roads safe “takes teamwork” and praised the coordination among local and state partners.

Officials also discussed ongoing I-20 construction, fuel supplies, and route priorities for hospitals and critical sites. A follow-up meeting is planned for January.
