Orleans Parish Civil District Court judge suspended for misconduct

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Supreme Court of Louisiana suspended Orleans Parish Civil District Court Judge Jennifer Medley for two misconduct charges.

According to 27-page court document, Medley’s charges stemmed from her 2020 election campaign. The document stated that, during her campaign against then-incumbent Judge Christopher Bruno, Medley called him a “deadbeat dad” that “refused to pay child support for 13 years.”

Medley will be suspended without pay for the next 30 days.
