Officers with the Anderson Police Department were called Thursday to the 2500 block of W. 12th Street on report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they spoke with an alleged victim who said a man had approached their home, showed a gun and demanded money.
APD said “officers quickly secured the scene” and that CID is now handling the case. Now, officials are identifying the suspect and asking for help finding him.
The alleged suspect has been identified as Harold “Butch” Johnson, a 62-year-old Anderson man. A photo of Johnson, provided by police, can be seen below:
“He is currently at large,” police said. “We are requesting that the community provide any information they may have on his whereabouts.”
Officials cautioned against approaching Johnson if you see him in public, as this is a “serious matter.” Police said Johnson also has several active warrants and should be considered armed and dangerous.

No other information was immediately provided by police.
