What to know about parking, road closures before the 92nd Texas Rose Festival Parade

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The 92nd annual Texas Rose Festival Parade is set to roll out on Saturday morning, and officials said there are a few key things to know before East Texans arrive in the morning.

The parade will start at around 9 a.m. on Front Street and end at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Francis Rose Stadium.

“We’re all getting set up for tomorrow morning’s festivities,” Strutters president William Robbins said. “Time for the parade will probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes total.”

Drivers in the Rose City should expect some traffic delays as Front Street from Glenwood Boulevard to Rose Stadium will be closed during the parade. People are encouraged to be extra cautious and watch for people walking across the streets near and around the parade route.

“All the side streets around the main parade route will be shut down about 6:30 a.m. tomorrow morning, and the main street, Front Street Highway 31, will be shut down at 7:45 a.m.,” Robbins said.

Robbins said the best place to watch the parade or to spot the Rose Queen is across from the W. T. Brookshire convention center and the KETK News set. Two bleachers will be available, or people can bring their own chair or blanket and sit along the street.

“Try to park on some of the side streets that go along Front Street and also down towards the Cotton Belt building,” Robbins said. “There’s plenty of parking.”
