
A post made by BPCC on X said, “Bossier Parish Community College has issued an immediate ‘shelter in place’ alert for its Bossier City Campus. If you are currently on campus, please move to the nearest room, lock doors, stay away from windows, and remain in place until further notice.”
BPCC will remain closed for the remainder of the day. All on-campus classes, activities, and events are canceled for the day. Faculty, staff, and students are advised to await the official “ALL CLEAR” message.
“The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are our top priority. Updates will be shared through official BPCC communication channels as more information becomes available.”
Bossier City Community College confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the community college and normal campus operations will resume on Friday, October 17.
The incident began as a vehicle pursuit by the Louisiana State Police involving a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning. The driver came to a stop across the street from Bossier Parish Community College. Three suspects fled on foot, and one was seen running toward BPCC and pulling on the doors of buildings, Shawn Poudrier, Bossier City Police PIO, said.
Three suspects were arrested in connection with this incident, this is an ongoing investigation.
