Rayville PD Assistant Police Chief accused of selling firearms, illegally receiving money from community

RAYVILLE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — In September 2025, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation Monroe Field Office (LSP MFO) detectives began an investigation after a complaint alleging malfeasance by Rayville Police Department Assistant Chief Czyz Williams.

Investigators said Williams unlawfully removed several firearms from the Rayville Police Department and subsequently sold them. According to officials, Williams also fraudulently solicited monetary donations from community members for fictitious crime prevention.

LSP MFO obtained an arrest warrant based on the findings of the investigation for Williams on the following charges:

  • Three counts of Theft of a Firearm
  • Theft
  • Four counts of Malfeasance in Office

Williams was arrested Thursday and processed into the Richland Parish Detention Center without incident.

According to authorities, the Louisiana State Police will serve as the lead investigative agency. The investigation remains active and ongoing. No further information is available at this time.

The Louisiana State Police online reporting system is also available to the public through a convenient, anonymous, and secure reporting form that is submitted to the appropriate investigators. The form can be accessed by visiting www.lsp.org and clicking on the “Report Suspicious or Criminal Activity” link.
