Friday temperatures: Temperatures on Friday will stay pretty much where they have been all week long. It will be a little warmer in the morning thanks to an increase in moisture from the Gulf. Lows will likely settle into the low to middle 60s. Daytime highs on Friday will remain a good ten degrees above normal in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
More clouds mix in with the sunshine: Futurecast shows that we will see a partly cloudy sky on Thursday night. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine on Friday. While Futurecast shows a stray shower is possible, it’s doubtful that we will see any rain on Friday. We will then see a partly to mostly cloudy sky on Friday night as a cold front gets closer to our area. Thunderstorms will increase over the northern half of the area late Saturday afternoon and quickly move south through the rest of the ArkLaTex Saturday evening and Saturday night. SPC continues to indicate that we will have a slight severe weather risk. I will look at possible impacts in my Weather Worries article later today.
Long-range outlook: Cooler air will finally move into the ArkLaTex starting on Sunday with highs falling back into the 80s. That is just the beginning. We could see below-normal temperatures for a change next week with highs settling into the 70s. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s. Rainfall chances are looking low for most of next week, with a slight chance on Monday night and Tuesday, and again on Thursday and Friday.
