On Wednesday, BART PD announced that a 15-year-old has been taken into custody in connection to the incident, which took place as the train was approaching Fruitvale Station. Police say that a charging packet has been submitted to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and the teen is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and willful discharge of a firearm.
Despite the arrest, BART PD said the investigation remains active and declined to release additional details.
