Wall was confirmed on Oct. 7, by a 51-47 vote, succeeding Ronald C. Gathe, Jr., for a four-year term.
President Donald Trump nominated Wall on May 6.
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) released a statement applauding Wall’s confirmation: “When President Trump wants results, he picks people who get them. Kurt is the man for the job. He’s ready to protect Louisiana families and enforce the law.”
A career prosecutor for over 30 years, Wall currently serves as the Assistant District Attorney and Chief Felony Prosecutor in Livingston Parish.
As U.S. Attorney, Wall will manage federal prosecutions. He will also represent the United States in civil cases in the Middle District of Louisiana.
