Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, as well as police officers, firefighters, and paramedics, surprised Maddy on Oct. 7, giving her a front-porch seat to her own parade to wish her luck and show their support.

“It was honestly amazing,” Maddy said about seeing the parade of lights and vehicles driving by. “I just can’t believe that this many people can just come out here and support people. And I think it’s wonderful. And I think our community is wonderful. It’s enduring at least. I mean, I like my community because they’re really helpful and they support me just as we would support them.”

Maddy’s family said the upcoming surgery will be her fourth.
