The hands-on event, presented in partnership with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation (LAWFF), will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at the Waddill Wildlife Refuge in Baton Rouge. The workshop is open to women ages 18 and older who are interested in learning the fundamentals of recreational fishing.
Applications are open Oct. 1–31, and the class is limited to 15 first-time participants. The program is designed to help beginners develop skills, build confidence, and become knowledgeable anglers through instruction from LDWF experts and hands-on practice.
While registration is free, participants must hold a valid Louisiana fishing license to take part.
The workshop is made possible through support from LAWFF and Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Louisiana, which donates gear for attendees. Funding is provided by the Sport Fish Restoration Fund.
