Mineral Wells man dies in Mitchell County motorcycle crash

MITCHELL COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Mineral Wells man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Mitchell County Saturday morning.

At about 10:47 a.m. on September 27, crews responded to FM 2183 near mile marker 342, about 15 miles southwest of Westbrook. According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcyclist was traveling along a section of roadway with alternating curves when he failed to navigate them safely. He lost control, left the roadway, and was thrown when the motorcycle overturned.

The driver, identified as 80-year-old Frank Norris Burnside of Mineral Wells, was pronounced dead at the scene. The report confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
