“This award is so important for Chyron. As this year’s IBC Chyron Designer of the Year award winner, Soto joins a roster of past winners, including Zack Millican, for his work as a U.S.-based sports graphics freelancer; Perry Litman, for his work with MOOV Ltd. for broadcasts of the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League; The Academy of Lower Thirds for their work using the Chyron Prime platform to create graphics for CPAC-Canada; Tom Gray of MOOV Ltd, and David Burke, a veteran operator and designer in U.S. news, sports and entertainment specifically for his project integrating the SportRadar API with Chyron Prime graphics.
Soto studied software engineering at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and holds a bachelor’s degree from Westbridge where he studied animation, interactive technology, video graphics and special effects. He also holds the Chyron Prime Designer Black Belt certification, which is the highest level of study within the Chyron Academy. He currently is a real-time graphics specialist for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. Additionally, he owns and operates DASM Animation, a high-end design studio specializing in digital art, mixed media, 3D models and motion graphics

It has been a great experience to utilize my experience as a designer with this modern graphics system,” Soto says. “I know it is being used more and more by broadcasters everywhere. I am really honored to be selected for this award.”
