'Guns everywhere': Neighbor recalls raid as Snyder drug bust leads to 16 arrests
SNYDER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – After a multi-departmental drug bust in Snyder, one resident recalled what they witnessed when their neighbor’s house was raided by law enforcement.

Many in Snyder brought their questions to social media after noticing a heavy law enforcement presence throughout the city Thursday morning, when multiple law enforcement agencies partnered together for a massive narcotics bust.

Overall, 16 individuals were arrested as a result of this bust, which spanned six different locations throughout Snyder. One of the warrants was served at a home in the 2800 block of Avenue Q, where a neighbor who wishes to remain unidentified spoke about what they saw during the raid.

“My granddaughter and I were in the kitchen. We were cooking and we heard a real loud bang. We thought it was a shooting. Then we see all these cops, and we see them drag this guy out to the street. Then they were just standing out here with guns everywhere,” the neighbor explained. “Then they brought like a little robot thing. They took it into the house, a camera or something. They brought it out, and then they all went in there. Then they started bringing stuff out.”

A local school official said that Snyder High School was placed on a brief “standby” procedure while the raids were being conducted. A standby protocol for a school is a pre-alert or low-level security measure that signals staff to prepare for a potential threat. However, the standby was only temporary and was quickly lifted, causing no interruptions to classes.
