TOMORROW: Temperatures will be near 70 around the time kids are heading off to school. Skies will be mostly clear in the morning and becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 90s. The chance for rain is little to nothing for your Thursday.

Forecast: mainly dry through the weekend 2

LOOKING AHEAD: Friday will be another hot and mainly dry day. Highs will warm into the low 90s in the afternoon, with overnight lows around 70. We will not have much change in the forecast over the weekend. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine Saturday and Sunday, with only a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening hours. There will be a slightly better chance for rain across south Louisiana next week – particularly around Tuesday and Wednesday. Stay tuned for the latest on that forecast.

TRACKING THE TROPICS:

Tropical Storm Gabrielle has formed in the eastern Atlantic. As of the latest advisory, the storm had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. Gabrielle will remain a weak tropical storm through the end of the week, before gaining strength early next week. The good news, all signs point to this storm staying away from the United States. Impacts to Bermuda are possible next week.

There are two other tropical waves behind Gabrielle that have a low chance of formation over the next seven days.

There is still plenty of hurricane season left to go, and the StormTracker team will continue to keep you updated on any and everything going on in the tropics.
