Dead body found inside stolen car in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — A homicide investigation is underway after police found a dead body inside a stolen car in North Philadelphia.

Police told PHL17 this happened on Tuesday, just after 9 p.m., along the 2000 block of North Bambrey Street. Officers received calls of a “suspicious” Dodge Charger parked on the street. As officers approached, the car had a strong odor.

When officers opened the trunk, they found a body wrapped in a sheet. The body has been removed from the scene and will be examined to determine the cause of death.
