Woodside estate Green Gables sells for $85 million: reports

(KRON4) — Green Gables, an infamously picturesque and private estate in Woodside, reportedly sold this September for $85 million.

Compass real estate firm told the Sacramento Bee that the deal closed on September 3.

Green Gables’ sprawling 74-acres feature Roman pools, lavish gardens, equestrian facilities, and seven English manor-style homes and guest houses. Compass real estate Helen Miller described the property as “California’s finest private estate.”

The private estate was built at 329 Albion Ave. more than a century ago. It was listed for $125 million before the price tag dropped to $85 million. The buyer’s identity was not released.

During her federal fraud trial, disgraced Silicon Valley entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes lived at Green Gables with her partner and their 6-month-old baby.

Woodside is home to several billionaires, including brokerage firm founder Charles Schwab, venture capitalist John Doerr, and former Oracle CEO Larry Ellison.
