GoFundMe launched to support family of Opelousas fire victims
OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — Family and friends organized a GoFundMe for the mother and daughter who have died in the Fat Belly’s Diner fire in Opelousas earlier today.

According to the GoFundMe page, Raquel Harris, 33 and Skylar Tapp, 10, relocated from North Carolina to Opelousas a year ago. Harris opened her business Esthetique by Faith located at 317 E Jefferson street of Opelousas and Tapp attended Helix AI & Medical Academy School.

The family is raising funds to be able to transport Harris’ and Tapp’s bodies back to North Carolina for a proper burial where their family resides.

“Both of their lives were a blessing and their memory will forever be a treasure. On the behalf of the family anything you can offer will be greatly appreciated and accepted.” The GoFundMe post said.
