Between 500 to 4,999 customers were without power on the other side of the freeway around Santa Rita Road and Stanley Boulevard.
PG&E said the outage was unplanned and that its team was evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections to make necessary repairs and safely restore power.
The utility estimates that power will be restored by 6 p.m.
