Thousands without power after Madera County outages

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Thousands of PG&E customers in Madera County were left without electricity on Monday after two unplanned afternoon outages.

The first outage was reported at 5:14 p.m. and immediately affected 1,651 customers. A second outage was reported four minutes later and immediately affected 1,881 customers. The two incidents were later combined for a total of 3,532 without power as of 5:45 p.m. on Monday.

While the cause of the outage has not been confirmed, it is currently affecting the area north and east of the City of Madera. That area is also where the recently contained Raymond Fire ignited.

Crews estimate power will return to the area by 10:45 p.m. To find out if your property has been affected, visit the PG&E Outage Center online.
