Pennsylvania lawmaker hopes for productive House sessions as budget remains overdue

(WHTM) — The state house scheduled sessions for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which raises hopes the budget standoff may soon be over.

The upcoming National Hunting and Fishing Day was celebrated with numerous displays and interactive activities. State Rep. Mary Isaacson (D-Philadelphia), who hit a target with a bow and arrow, told abc27 the hunt for a budget with a divided legislature is more difficult.

“I think that we have a varying degree of opinions that are urban, suburban and rural across this entire state, and there are 203 in the house that have to come to an agreement on something to pass it,” Isaacson said. “Same thing in the senate, and right now we are just at a standoff on different priorities in different areas of the state.”

The budget is 71 days late.
