These five Texas cities are perfect for movie lovers

DALLAS (KDAF) — A new study has revealed the best cities in the U.S. for movie enthusiasts. While Los Angeles in California claimed the top spot, the Lone Star State dominates the ranking with five Texan cities in the top 20.

The research, conducted by social casino website McLuck, analyzed the 100 most populated U.S. cities to determine which offer the best experience for film fans. Each city received a score based on factors such as the number of movie theaters, indie venues, theater ratings and ticket prices.

Texas’s findings

The Texan city of Austin took fourth place with a score of 6.40, offering 103 movie theaters, including 43 indie venues. The average price of a movie ticket is $14.00, and the average rating of theaters in the city is 4 out of 5.

San Antonio, another Texan city, ranks eighth with a cinephile score of 5.31. The city has 95 theaters, including 13 indies, which receive an average rating of 4.15 out of 5. Movie lovers can expect to pay an average of $14.00 for a movie ticket.

Dallas is in 16^th place, scoring 4.70. The city has 79 theaters, 19 of which are indies, with an average rating of 3.52 out of 5. Ticket prices are $14.25 on average.

El Paso is in 17^th place, scoring 4.63. The city has 44 theaters, 8 of which are indies, with an average rating of 4.25 out of 5. Ticket prices are $11.75 on average, which is the sixth cheapest price in the country.

Houston is in 19^th place, scoring 4.53.The city has 196 theaters, 18 of which are indies, with an average rating of 3.48 out of 5. Ticket prices are $15.00 on average.
