In true fashion, the Krewe set out to surprise a friend duo with some free treats.
“We are Live! in the Community with the Cares Krewe, and you’re being ambushed with kindness right now. So what we want you to do and your bashful friend, we want y’all to walk right up here and order anything you want, and it’s on us today. Yes, come on, come on, Kayla!” said Shelli Briery Murphy, Advertising and Public Relations Manager with Live! Casino & Hotel.
The local community members were shocked by the random acts of kindness and the announcement that their treats were complimentary.
“They’re not like regular doughnuts. The, the dough has like a chew to it. It’s like, got a little snap. They’re really good,” said the local woman about the Mochi donut.
“It probably tastes better and it’s free, right? said Murphy.
The local mentioned that her daughter would have FOMO not being present to get the free sweet treats. We could not have that! Live! in the Community with the Cares Krewe also paid for some donuts and drinks for her as well!
“Yeah, one of each doughnut, please, Mary, hook it up, box it right up,” said Shelli.
Mrs. Briery Murphy has always wanted to own her own donut shop, and she could not resist going behind the counter to help out! Watch out, Mr. David and Team Mochi, Shelli might be interested in a part-time job there!
“Why is it important to be nice to others and do nice things for other people?” asked Shelli Briery Murphy, Advertising and Public Relations Manager with Live! Casino & Hotel.
“Selfishly, I think being kind is good for you. It makes you give people things and do things for people, it can make you feel good. But also, like you never know what’s going on with other people, and sometimes if you do one thing and the day has been awful, it can remake their entire day,” answered the local woman.
