LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette house fire broke out in flames earlier this morning in the 100 block of Porter Lane, firefighters said.

Fire officials said they responded to a call about heavy smoke in the area of Teurlings Drive and Porter Lane.

Later on, it was discovered that a single-family dwelling was engulfed in flames in the 100 block of Porter Lane down a private road.

According to firefighters, there were no occupants inside home at the time of the fire and no injuries reported. The fire was brought under control within twenty-five minutes. The dwelling sustained heavy fire damage.

Fire officials said they will continue to investigate the early morning fire to determine the cause.
