BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Louisiana has multiple Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities where detainees are housed.
Facilities are located throughout the state.
- Allen Parish Public Safety Complex: 7340 Highway 26 W., Oberlin.
- Central Louisiana ICE Processing Center: 830 Pine Hill Road, Jena.
- Jackson Parish Correctional Center: 287 Industrial Drive, Jonesboro.
- Pine Prairie ICE Processing Center: 1133 Hampton Dupre Road, Pine Prairie.
- Richwood Correctional Center: 180 Pine Bayou Circle, Monroe.
- River Correctional Center: 26362 Highway 15, Ferriday.
- South Louisiana ICE Processing Center: 3843 Stagg Ave., Basile.
- Winn Correctional Center: 560 Gum Springs Road, Winnfield.
State and federal officials are set to announce plans to open a new facility at Angola Prison to house ICE detainees on Sept. 3.
Louisiana is among the top states with the most ICE detainees. Gov. Jeff Landry announced a partnership with the Trump administration to crack down on immigration in May. Operation GEAUX aims to enforce the president’s policies. Landry’s executive order directed Louisiana law enforcement agencies to work with the Department of Homeland Security and ICE.
“If you’re here illegally and you engage in criminal activity, you are going to be deported or sent to jail,” Landry said.
