Moped driver hospitalized after Alexandria collision

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — A person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a Monday morning collision between a car and a moped in Alexandria.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said in a social media post shortly after 10:30 a.m. that northbound Richmond Highway was closed at Fannon Street. There, a vehicle and a moped collided.

The moped driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, while the other driver stayed at the scene, APD noted.

A crash investigation was underway in the area Monday morning.
