State Police at Reading said this happened around 7pm Wednesday night near the Reading Pagoda atop Mount Penn.
Troopers on patrol spotted two mopeds driving erratically near the landmark and one had a fraudulent plate.
The driver, identified as a 31-year-old Reading man, fled, leading troopers on a short chase before abandoning the moped and running down the mountainside.
He was later arrested after a Taser device had been deployed.
The suspect, troopers said, had a suspended license and an outstanding warrant.
No injuries were reported.
