100 pounds of meth seized in Jackson, two in custody
Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said authorities executed a search warrant on August 7. They arrested Racquel Taylor for aggravated trafficking after finding her in possession of 100 pounds of meth at a home on South Crownpointe Drive in Jackson.
On August 12, Martin said Tyrone Samuel was arrested on charges of aggravated trafficking and conspiracy. He is currently out on bond from Madison County.
According to Martin, authorities recovered 100 pounds of methamphetamine, two pounds of marijuana, 1,000 doses of M30 counterfeit Oxycodone containing fentanyl, a Draco 7.62 rifle, a stolen Ford Bronco out of Kentucky and a GMC Yukon.
“This is great work done by our law enforcement officers by taking 100 pounds of methamphetamine and other drugs off our streets,” said MDPS Commissioner Sean Tindell. “Every ounce or pound removed is a step toward safer communities and a clear message to criminals that illegal drugs have no place in Mississippi.”
This remains an open and ongoing investigation, and more arrests are anticipated.
