Drier days ahead as hot temperatures stick around for Labor Day
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A weak boundary has sunk southward along the coast today taking most of the rain away from Acadiana. Winds will stay out of the north overnight, but humid air will remain. Sunday begins with warm and humid weather. Temperatures warm quickly to near 90 by the afternoon hours. A few storms will be possible, mainly along the coast where the boundary stalls out. Labor Day looks to be hot and mostly dry with temperatures in the 90s and only an isolated storm chance in the afternoon.

In the tropics, we are following a tropical wave exiting the African coast has a low chance of development as it works its way westward in the Atlantic. We have plenty of time to monitor it and there are no threats to Acadiana for the foreseeable future.

Locally, we will keep summer weather around through midweek with daytime temperatures reaching the lower 90s and one or two storms developing in the afternoon. By Thursday, a dry air front looks to bring lower humidity to the area. This should clear Acadiana of most rain chances through next weekend and make morning temperatures a bit better with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
