Debris fire damages 2 apartments in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two apartments were damaged following an apartment complex fire in Fresno on Wednesday, the city’s fire department said.

Crews responded to reports of a fire on the 500 block of S. Dearing Avenue just before 2 p.m.

Once on scene, firefighters found a debris fire that had spread into a row of garages at an apartment complex. Crews were able to contain the blaze, and the damage was limited to two units – nobody reported injuries.

During the incident, fire investigators say they questioned a person who was seen in the vicinity of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
