United Family, Albertsons Companies donate to flood victims in Central Texas

KERRVILLE, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The United Family, along with Albertson Companies’ sister stores, joined forces to donate to flood victims in the Kerr County and San Angelo area.

According to officials with the United Family, the Albertsons Companies Foundation is donating $487,366 between the two organizations. Officials noted that both the southern division and the United Family division of Albertsons Companies contributed to the donations.

The donation will go to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund managed by Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and the San Angelo Area Foundation.

“Our hearts are with those in Kerr County and with those in Central Texas and beyond, who’ve
been deeply impacted by the recent flooding,” said Wes Jackson, Albertsons Companies
Southern Division President. “Together with the United Family Division, we are here to support
fellow Texans in our shared communities across the state.”

The United Family stated the southern division includes stores across Texas,
Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, and the United Family Division includes stores across
Texas and New Mexico.

“Our fellow Texans who were deeply impacted by the recent floods continue to be in our
thoughts and prayers”, said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family Division. “Words
cannot adequately describe the devastation from this event. We are grateful to be part of an
organization that mobilized and united to help our neighbors in need.”

Officials added that the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has expressed gratitude for the donation that will directly benefit the families impacted most. Grants are already in progress, and individuals are continuing to receive immediate assistance.

“This extraordinary gift will help our neighbors rebuild their lives and restore hope for
hundreds of families”, said Austin Dickson, CEO, Community Foundation of the Texas Hill
Country. “We are deeply grateful for this powerful act of solidarity with the Hill Country during
such a trying time.”
