The Minnesota State Patrol said an 89-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning after his vehicle was involved in a collision on Highway 34 in Clay County.
According to the State Patrol, Burton John Swenson, 89, of Barnesville, was travelling east on Highway 34 in Clay County when his vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle near Tansem Township.
Swenson was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 64-year-old woman from Hawley, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
